Product Description

The VLEX-HT3UTH40 is a compact 18Gbps HDBaseT 3.0 extender purpose-built for USB-C laptops connecting to HDMI displays. The transmitter accepts a single USB-C source over DP-Alt Mode (v1.2a), extends the video to an HDMI receiver, and carries USB 2.0 data both directions for peripherals at either end. A dedicated USB-C charging port and two local USB-A ports at the transmitter let a laptop charge and connect accessories without extra cabling.

Uncompressed 4K@60Hz (4:4:4 8-bit) extends up to 130ft/40m over a single Cat6A/7 cable, with 4K@30Hz (4:4:4 8-bit) reaching 230ft/70m on the same run. The receiver outputs HDMI along with four USB 2.0 device ports, so mice, keyboards, or dongles at the display end stay connected through the same cable that carries video.

RS-232 signal pass-through and bidirectional 24V PoC round out the feature set, letting either end power the link and integrate with existing room control systems. Its compact, boxy enclosure fits equipment mounts and wall boxes where a full-size extender doesn't.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this extender accept an HDMI source instead of USB-C?
No. The VLEX-HT3UTH40 transmitter only accepts USB-C (DP-Alt Mode) input. If you need to support both HDMI and USB-C sources, the VLEX-HT3HUTH40 accepts either.

How much charging power is available at the transmitter?
The USB-C input port supports DP-Alt Mode power delivery up to 100 watts, and there's a separate dedicated USB-C charging port for a second device.

What's the difference between this and the VLEX-HT3UTU40?
Both accept the same USB-C input at the transmitter. The VLEX-HT3UTH40 outputs HDMI at the receiver, while the VLEX-HT3UTU40 outputs USB-C (video plus USB 2.0 data) instead of HDMI, for displays or panels that require a USB-C connection.

Does the receiver support USB peripherals like a wireless mouse or keyboard receiver?
Yes. The receiver provides four USB 2.0 device ports (one USB-C, three USB-A), each supplying up to 5V/1A, suitable for USB peripherals and dongles.

Can I power just the receiver end and have it feed power back to the transmitter?
Yes, PoC is bidirectional; whichever end has power connected can supply the other over the same Cat6A/7 cable. A PoC on/off switch is provided at each unit if you need to disable this.

What audio formats pass through to the HDMI output?
