Product Description

The VLEX-HT3HUTH100U3 is an 18Gbps HDBaseT 3.0 extender built for installations that need real reach on a single Cat6A/7 cable. It carries HDMI or USB-C video, USB 2.0, RS-232, and bidirectional IR up to 328ft/100m in HDBT Standard Mode, or steps down to 1080p 8-bit for runs up to 492ft/150m in HDBT Long Reach Mode. The transmitter accepts an HDMI source or a USB-C source with DP-Alt Mode video and up to 60 watts of charging, switching between the two automatically.

Video resolution tops out at 4K2K@60Hz (YUV 4:4:4), and both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision pass through intact. The receiver outputs HDMI along with two USB 2.0 device ports for peripherals at the display end. Both transmitter and receiver de-embed 3.5mm analog audio and support advanced EDID management, so mismatched source and display timings are handled without a separate scaler.

Bidirectional 24V PoC means either end can power the link, and RS-232 with guest-mode control plus wideband IR pass-through keep the extender compatible with existing room control systems. It's a straightforward long-distance upgrade path for facilities that have outgrown 40m extenders but still need HDMI/USB-C input flexibility.

Ideal Applications

Corporate Boardrooms & Conference Rooms
Larger executive floors and multi-building campuses often need more than 40m of reach between an equipment closet and a boardroom display. The 100m standard-mode distance covers most enterprise layouts while still supporting both HDMI and USB-C laptop connections.

Higher Education Classrooms & Lecture Capture
Lecture halls and auditoriums with AV racks positioned well away from the projection or display wall benefit from the 100m run, with RS-232 pass-through tying into existing classroom control processors.

Healthcare & Telemedicine Suites
Hospital wings and clinics frequently route AV cabling through longer conduit paths between equipment rooms and exam or consult spaces; the extended reach and bidirectional PoC simplify those longer, harder-to-access runs.

Command Centers & Control Rooms
Operations centers with source racks separated from video wall displays by more than 40m gain headroom with the 100m standard mode, or can drop to Long Reach Mode at 1080p for even greater distances if resolution can flex.

Broadcast & Production Facilities
Machine rooms set back from studio floors or control galleries can rely on the 100m Cat6A/7 run to carry HDR and Dolby Vision-graded preview signals without a separate fiber extension.

Hospitality & Digital Signage
Convention centers and large venues with signage or presentation displays spread across wide floor plans use the 100m reach to consolidate source equipment in a single rack room.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the practical difference between this and the VLEX-HT3HUTH40?
Both share the same HDMI/USB-C input design, USB 2.0, and connector layout. The VLEX-HT3HUTH100U3 extends the reach to 100m at full 4K@60Hz (versus 40m on the HT3HUTH40) and adds an HDBT Long Reach Mode for 150m runs at 1080p.

What is HDBT Long Reach Mode and when should I use it?
Long Reach Mode trades resolution for distance: it caps output at 1080p 8-bit but extends the cable run to 492ft/150m. Use HDBT Standard Mode (the factory default) for any installation running at 4K, and switch to Long Reach only when the cable distance exceeds 100m and 1080p is acceptable.

Does switching between Standard and Long Reach mode require special equipment?
No, it's a mode switch on the extender itself, not a hardware change. Consult the user manual for the exact switch or command sequence.

How much can the USB-C input charge a connected laptop?
Up to 60 watts via DP-Alt Mode (v1.2a) power delivery.

Can I use this extender with a display and source that are more than 100 meters apart?
Only if you can accept 1080p resolution. HDBT Long Reach Mode extends the link to 150 meters but limits video to 1080p 8-bit; for full 4K@60Hz, 100 meters is the maximum reach.

Is the receiver's USB 2.0 output sufficient for a wireless mouse and keyboard at the display end?
Yes, the receiver's two USB 2.0 device ports are suitable for low-bandwidth peripherals like mice, keyboards, or USB dongles at the display side.
