Product Description
The VLDT-HD2DT is a compact 2-channel Dante® HDMI input adapter that extracts the embedded stereo audio from an HDMI source and converts it to Dante® digital audio for transport across a standard IP network. Built on the Dante® Ultimo 2x2 platform, it accepts any HDMI 2.0b signal with HDCP 2.3 (up to 18Gbps, including HDR and Dolby Vision) and pulls its two-channel PCM audio onto Dante® without long analog runs. The adapter extracts audio only and does not output video.
Conversion is fully digital, so the signal passes without loss for transparent, sample-accurate audio. HDMI input accepts PCM at 32–192kHz; Dante® output runs at 44.1/48/88.2/96kHz with configurable 1/2/5ms latency and AES67 support. Power comes from the local USB-C port or PoE (IEEE 802.3af Class 0), and the compact plastic housing installs quickly with the included hook-and-loop fasteners.

Ideal Applications
HDMI Source Audio Integration
Pull stereo audio from media players, PCs, cameras, and set-top boxes directly onto a Dante® network. The VLDT-HD2DT extracts embedded HDMI audio, including from HDCP-protected sources, and routes it to DSPs, recorders, or zone amplifiers.
Recording Studios & Content Production
Capture two-channel program audio from HDMI devices for recording and monitoring. The lossless digital path preserves studio-grade fidelity from source to network.
Live Events & Performance Spaces
Add HDMI audio sources at concerts, art festivals, and staged productions. PoE power and a single Cat cable simplify placement anywhere an HDMI source sits.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the VLDT-HD2DT do?
It extracts the two-channel audio embedded in an HDMI source signal and converts it to Dante® network audio for transport across a standard IP network. This lets sound from a media player, PC, camera, or set-top box be routed, recorded, or amplified anywhere on a Dante® system.
Does it output video, or just audio?
Audio only. The VLDT-HD2DT has an HDMI input but no HDMI output; it pulls the embedded stereo audio onto Dante® and does not pass video through to a display.
Does it work with HDCP-protected sources?
Yes. The HDMI input is HDCP 2.3 compliant and accepts HDMI 2.0b signals up to 18Gbps, including HDR, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision content, so it can handshake with protected sources to extract their audio.
How is the VLDT-HD2DT powered?
Two ways: local USB-C power (5V/500mA) or Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af Class 0). PoE lets a single network cable carry both power and Dante® audio, with maximum draw of 1.8W.
What sampling rates does it support, and does it support AES67?
HDMI input accepts PCM at 32kHz to 192kHz; Dante® output runs at 44.1, 48, 88.2, or 96kHz, both at 16 or 24-bit. Dante® latency is configurable to 1, 2, or 5ms, and AES67 is supported for multi-vendor interoperability.
