2CH Dante® Optical Output Adapter

VLDT-DT2OP

  • Dante® network audio out as optical S/PDIF, feeding a TV, soundbar, or AVR from any channel on the network over one Cat cable

  • Pure digital conversion with no analog stage, preserving fidelity at up to 130dB dynamic range

  • USB-C or PoE power (IEEE 802.3af Class 0) for single-cable, plug-and-play installation

  • AES67 support and a compact plastic enclosure for flexible mounting in multi-vendor Dante® networks

Product Description

The VLDT-DT2OP is a compact 2-channel Dante® optical output adapter that receives Dante® digital audio from the network and converts it to two-channel optical S/PDIF (TOSLINK) output. Built on the Dante® Ultimo 2x2 platform, it delivers networked audio to TVs, soundbars, AV receivers, and other consumer devices that accept an optical input, without long analog cable runs.

Because conversion is fully digital, the signal passes without loss for transparent, sample-accurate audio. The adapter receives Dante® audio at 44.1/48/88.2/96kHz and outputs matching optical PCM, with configurable 1/2/5ms Dante® latency and AES67 support. Power comes from either the local USB-C port or PoE (IEEE 802.3af Class 0), and the compact plastic housing installs quickly with the included hook-and-loop fasteners.

Ideal Applications

Networked Audio to Consumer Devices
Send any Dante® channel to a TV, soundbar, or AV receiver through its optical input. The VLDT-DT2OP converts networked audio to optical S/PDIF locally, delivering program audio to displays and consumer gear without an analog feed.

Recording Studios & Content Production
Feed optical-input recorders and monitoring gear from a Dante® network. The lossless digital path preserves studio-grade fidelity from network to device.

Live Events & Performance Spaces
Deliver Dante® audio to optical devices at concerts, art festivals, and staged productions. PoE power and a single Cat cable simplify placement wherever an optical input sits.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the VLDT-DT2OP do?
It receives Dante® network audio and converts it to a two-channel optical S/PDIF output. This lets any channel on a Dante® system feed a TV, soundbar, AV receiver, or other device with an optical input, without a separate analog cable.

What can I connect the optical output to?
Any device with an optical S/PDIF (TOSLINK) input, such as TVs, soundbars, AV receivers, and consumer audio gear. The adapter delivers two-channel PCM audio pulled from the Dante® network.

How is the VLDT-DT2OP powered?
Two ways: local USB-C power (5V/500mA) or Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af Class 0). PoE lets a single network cable carry both power and Dante® audio, with maximum draw of just 0.64W.

Does it support AES67?
Yes. AES67 support allows the VLDT-DT2OP to interoperate with other manufacturers' networked audio systems, so it fits mixed-vendor environments alongside Dante® devices.

What sampling rates does it support?
It receives and outputs PCM at 44.1, 48, 88.2, or 96kHz, at 16 or 24-bit. Dante® latency is configurable to 1, 2, or 5ms in Dante® Controller.
