USB 3.2 & 2.0 Extenders | CAT Cable USB Extension for AV and KVM

About USB Extenders

VigilLink's VLEX USB extender range extends USB 3.2/3.0 and USB 2.0 peripheral signals over standard Cat cable to distances far beyond the 5-meter USB specification limit — enabling cameras, keyboard and mouse devices, interactive whiteboards, PTZ controllers, USB audio interfaces, and USB-HID devices to operate at remote locations without signal loss or protocol failure. The range includes USB 3.2/3.0 extenders up to 100 meters (VLEX-UB32CBB-TX/RX) and USB 2.0 extenders at 50 meters and 100 meters (VLEX-U2CT050-TR, VLEX-U2CT100-TR) at 200Mbps. All VLEX USB extenders ship with a 6-year VigilLink warranty.

USB 3.2 & 3.0 — Transmitter (VLEX-UB32CBB-TX) & Receiver (VLEX-UB32CBB-RX): Extend USB 3.2/3.0 over Cat6/7 cable with a standard rackmount or surface-mount box transmitter at the source end. Choose for equipment rack installations where cameras, keyboard/mouse, or USB-HID devices are far from the computer.

USB 2.0 — 100m, 200Mbps (VLEX-U2CT100-TR): Extends USB 2.0 over Cat cable to 100 meters at 200Mbps. Choose when USB peripherals must reach a remote location up to 100 meters from the host.

USB 2.0 — 50m, 200Mbps (VLEX-U2CT050-TR): Extends USB 2.0 over Cat cable to 50 meters at 200Mbps. Choose for medium-distance USB peripheral extension where the 100-meter model is more than needed and a more compact form factor is preferred.

Frequently Asked Questions

What USB device types are compatible with VigilLink USB extenders?

USB 2.0 extenders (VLEX-U2CT100-TR, VLEX-U2CT050-TR) support keyboards, mice, USB-HID devices, PTZ controllers, USB audio interfaces, and other USB 2.0 peripherals at up to 200Mbps. USB 3.2/3.0 extenders (VLEX-UB32CBB-TX/RX) additionally support SuperSpeed USB devices including external storage and high-bandwidth USB cameras.

Can I extend USB independently of HDMI video using these extenders?

Yes. All four models in this family extend USB independently of any HDMI signal, using only Cat cable from source to remote location. No HDMI extender is required — these are pure USB-over-Cat devices.

What Cat cable type is needed for USB extension?

Cat5e or Cat6 is supported for all models in this family. Cat6 is recommended for runs approaching the maximum rated distance. Use straight-through (not crossover) Cat cable.

What is the maximum USB extension distance available in this range?

The VLEX-U2CT100-TR extends USB 2.0 to 100 meters over Cat cable — the maximum distance in the USB extender family. For longer distances, consider integrating USB extension within an HDBaseT extender model (such as the VLEX-HT3100U-TR or VLEX-HT2150U-TR), which carry USB alongside HDMI over the same Cat6 run.
