Product Description

The VLML-4x2U30AC is an 18Gbps 4x2 seamless HDMI matrix switcher with integrated multiview and 4K USB capture, routing four HDMI sources to two outputs at resolutions up to 4K60 4:4:4. It is HDCP 2.2 and 1.x compliant, supporting both current and older sources.

In multiview mode, several sources appear on a single screen through Auto, Single, PIP, picture-by-picture, Triple, Quad, and custom layouts. Multiview and single-screen content are available on Output 1, while Output 2 provides a dedicated single-screen feed. Seamless switching in matrix mode moves between sources with no black screen or tearing, with auto or manual switching modes.

A dedicated USB 3.2 Gen 1 port captures video and audio at up to 4K using the standard UVC and UAC protocols, letting a connected computer treat the switcher as a plug-and-play capture device for video conferencing, recording, or live streaming, without additional drivers. The switcher also passes HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, and Dolby Vision through untouched and converts HDR to SDR when a display requires it.

Each of the four HDMI inputs includes a loop-out for cascading connections. De-embedded audio is available on an optical S/PDIF output and a balanced analog line output. Control is flexible across front panel buttons, IR remote, RS-232 or TCP/IP API, and the built-in web GUI, with input EDID management on board.

Multi-View Mode

The VLML-4x2U30AC displays several sources on a single screen through Auto, Single, PIP, picture-by-picture, Triple, Quad, and custom layouts. Multiview output is carried on Output 1, while Output 2 delivers a dedicated single-screen feed. Multiview uses fast switching for quick source changes, and matrix mode adds seamless single-screen switching with no black screen or tearing between sources.

USB 3.2 Capture

The VLML-4x2U30AC captures its output over a USB 3.2 Gen 1 connection at up to 4K, using the standard UVC video and UAC audio protocols. A connected computer recognizes the switcher as a plug-and-play capture device, so it works directly with conferencing, recording, and streaming applications without installing drivers. This turns a multi-source room into a single capture feed, carrying either a switched single source or a multiview layout into the software of choice.

Ideal Applications

  • Video conference rooms capturing a switched or multiview feed into meeting software as a plug-and-play device

  • Lecture capture and recording combining multiple sources into one USB stream

  • Live streaming and production feeding a multiview or single source to streaming software over USB

  • Boardrooms and dual-display setups using multiview on Output 1, a single-screen feed on Output 2, plus a USB capture stream

  • Huddle and collaboration spaces presenting several inputs in PIP or quad layouts

  • Mixed-display environments where HDR sources must reach both HDR and SDR screens

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the VLML-4x2U30AC?
The VLML-4x2U30AC is an 18Gbps 4x2 seamless HDMI matrix switcher with built-in multiview and 4K USB capture, routing four sources to two HDMI outputs and a USB stream at up to 4K60 4:4:4.

How does the USB capture work?
A USB 3.2 Gen 1 port outputs video and audio at up to 4K using the standard UVC and UAC protocols, so a connected computer recognizes the unit as a plug-and-play capture device with no drivers required.

Can I capture a multiview layout, not just a single source?
Yes. The USB feed can carry either a switched single source or a multiview layout, so the captured stream reflects what is shown on Output 1.

What multiview layouts does it support?
It supports Auto, Single, PIP, picture-by-picture, Triple, Quad, and customized layouts, with multiview carried on Output 1 and a single-screen feed on Output 2.

Does it support HDR?
Yes. It passes through HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, and Dolby Vision, and can convert HDR to SDR for displays that do not accept HDR.

Does it switch without dropouts?
Yes. Matrix-mode switching is seamless with no black screen or tearing, and multiview uses fast switching for quick source changes.

What audio outputs does it provide?
De-embedded audio is available on an optical S/PDIF output (up to 5.1CH) and a balanced analog line output (LPCM 2CH).

What is the difference between the VLML-4x2U30AC and the VLML-4x2U30A?
The VLML-4x2U30AC adds a USB 3.2 Gen 1 capture output for 4K UVC/UAC video and audio capture. The VLML-4x2U30A shares the same matrix, multiview, and HDR features without the capture port.

How is the VLML-4x2U30AC controlled?
It can be controlled from the front panel, IR remote, RS-232 or TCP/IP API, and the built-in web GUI.
