Product Description
The VLEX-H20U2100NIR is a long-reach HDBaseT extender that carries HDMI and USB 2.0 signals up to 100m/328ft over a single Cat5e/6 cable, converting the HDMI 2.0b signal to HDBaseT for transmission and reconstructing it at the receiver. Video resolution reaches 4K@60Hz at full 4:4:4 chroma sampling, with HDCP 2.3/2.2/1.x compliance and 18Gbps of video bandwidth.
This variant omits the dedicated IR and RS-232 control ports found on the standard VLEX-H20U2100, keeping CEC pass-through for basic display handshaking while simplifying the connector layout. Bi-directional PoC and a compact metal enclosure make it a straightforward fit for installations where video and USB extension are the only requirements and a separate control-signal path is unnecessary.

Ideal Applications
Corporate Conference Rooms & Huddle Spaces
Extend a laptop or room PC's HDMI output to a display beyond standard cable reach in rooms where display control is handled separately, keeping the extender's footprint and cabling simple.
Higher Education & Corporate Training Classrooms
Run 4K lecture capture or presentation sources to displays or projectors across a room on a single Cat5e/6 run, where CEC handles basic power-on handshaking without a dedicated IR or RS-232 control system.
Digital Signage & Unattended Displays
Feed 4K signage content from a centrally located media player to a display mounted at distance, in fixed installations where no separate remote or serial control path is needed.
Retail & Showroom Video Walls
Extend HDMI sources to individual displays across a showroom floor plan, using USB 2.0 for touch or peripheral interaction at the display end without the added complexity of control-signal wiring.
Small to Mid-Size Meeting Rooms
Bridge a room PC or laptop to a display or projector positioned across a standard conference room, where the CEC handshake is sufficient and dedicated control wiring isn't part of the room design.
Healthcare & Clinical Consultation Rooms
Extend consultation or imaging video sources to a display outside the immediate treatment area in rooms where a separate control system already manages the display, keeping the extender's role limited to video and USB.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does "NIR" mean on the VLEX-H20U2100NIR?
NIR denotes the variant of the VLEX-H20U2100 without dedicated IR and RS-232 control ports. It extends the same 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 HDMI signal and USB 2.0 over 100m, retaining CEC pass-through, but omits the IR blaster/receiver and RS-232 phoenix connections found on the standard model.
What is the maximum distance and resolution for the VLEX-H20U2100NIR?
The VLEX-H20U2100NIR extends 4K2K@60Hz 4:4:4 HDMI up to 100m/328ft over a single Cat5e/6 cable, with 18Gbps of video bandwidth and HDCP 2.3/2.2/1.x compliance.
Should I choose the VLEX-H20U2100NIR or the VLEX-H20U2100?
Choose the VLEX-H20U2100NIR when the installation needs 4K@60Hz HDMI and USB extension only, with no separate IR remote or RS-232 serial control requirement. Choose the standard VLEX-H20U2100 when bi-directional IR and RS-232 pass-through are needed to control a source or display from the far end.
Can I power this extender from one end only?
Yes. The VLEX-H20U2100NIR supports bi-directional PoC (Power over Cable), so a single 24V/1A power supply at either the transmitter or receiver can power both units over the Cat cable.
How many USB 2.0 ports are available at the receiver?
The receiver provides 2x USB-A (4-pin female) USB 2.0 ports, in addition to a USB-C service port used for firmware and configuration access.
What audio formats does the VLEX-H20U2100NIR pass through?
The extender passes LPCM, Dolby Digital/Plus/EX, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS, DTS-EX, DTS-96/24, DTS High Res, DTS-HD Master Audio, and DTS:X, with audio de-embedding available at the receiver via the 3.5mm analog output.
