Product Description
The VLIP-H30NDIU3-Tx is a compact HDMI encoder that turns any HDMI source into an NDI® stream on your network, or into a USB 3.0 capture device on your computer. Connect a camera, PC, or media player to the HDMI input, and the unit delivers that signal to NDI-enabled software and receivers across a standard Ethernet network, or directly to a laptop as a UVC/UAC webcam that needs no drivers.
The HDMI input accepts signals up to 4K@30Hz or 1080p@60Hz, and a loop-through output passes the same signal to a local display for monitoring. For NDI, the encoder produces a compressed H.264 or H.265 stream with adjustable bitrate, I-frame interval, and CBR or VBR control. A lower-resolution preview stream is available when the source runs at 1080p. Over USB, the unit supports MJPEG, H.264, H.265, and NV12 formats at resolutions up to 3840x2160@30fps. USB and NDI outputs operate one at a time, and USB takes priority when both are enabled.
The unit draws power from a PoE network switch or through its USB-C port. Setup and control run through a built-in web interface or Telnet API, and the 1/4"-20 thread mounts directly to a standard tripod or camera rig.

Ideal Applications
Video Conferencing and Zoom Rooms
Bring a room camera, document camera, or presenter PC into a conference as an NDI source for Zoom Rooms, or plug it into a laptop over USB so it appears as a standard webcam. The same unit covers both a fixed room system and a quick laptop-based meeting, and the HDMI loop-out keeps a local display live.
Live Streaming and Event Production
Turn HDMI cameras and presentation laptops into NDI sources that production software can pick up anywhere on the network. PoE lets you place the encoder next to the camera on a single network cable, and the tripod thread mounts it directly to the rig.
Education and Lecture Capture
Send classroom cameras and instructor PCs to recording and streaming systems over the campus network, without running dedicated video cabling to a control room. NDI Groups keep each room's sources organized and separate on a shared network.
Houses of Worship
Add HDMI cameras and lyric or presentation computers to an NDI-based streaming workflow using the building's existing network. The compact size and PoE power make it easy to place near cameras in the sanctuary, far from the production booth.
Content Creation and Recording
Connect a camera or game console to a computer over USB 3.0 for recording or streaming at up to 4K@30fps, with no capture drivers to install. The loop-out lets you monitor the source on a separate screen while you record.
Corporate and Enterprise AV
Distribute boardroom, training room, and lobby sources across the corporate network as NDI streams, managed through a browser-based interface. The forced first-login password change and Telnet API support fit IT-managed deployments.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the VLIP-H30NDIU3-Tx?
The VLIP-H30NDIU3-Tx is an HDMI to NDI® encoder with USB 3.0 capture. It takes an HDMI signal up to 4K@30Hz and either streams it over a standard Ethernet network as NDI, or sends it to a computer over USB as a driver-free webcam and microphone. It also has an HDMI loop-out for a local display and runs on PoE or USB-C power.
Can I use the USB output and NDI output at the same time?
No. USB and NDI outputs are mutually exclusive, and USB takes priority. If USB output is active, NDI will not turn on, and a message appears on the connected display. If NDI is running and you enable USB output, NDI stops and the video switches to USB.
Why isn't NDI output working when I first connect the unit?
NDI output is turned off by default. Open the web UI, go to Settings > NDI Settings, and switch NDI OUT on. Also check that USB output isn't active, since USB takes priority over NDI.
What do I need to power the VLIP-H30NDIU3-Tx?
Connect the network port to a PoE-enabled Ethernet switch, or power it through the USB-C port. No power supply is included, so plan for a PoE switch or a USB power source when using NDI. [CONFIRM: PoE class; USB-C source rating]
How do I find the unit's IP address?
Press the RESET button once, and the connected HDMI display shows the device name, source, and IP address. The unit uses DHCP by default. If no DHCP server responds, it falls back to 169.254.1.100.
What name will the unit show in my software?
Over USB, the computer lists it as a camera named "Capture4K." On the network, the default NDI name is "Capture4K-" followed by the last six digits of the MAC address and "-TX." You can change the NDI device name and channel name in the web UI.
Does it work with Zoom Rooms?
Yes. The VLIP-H30NDIU3-Tx can send its NDI stream to a Zoom Rooms client or any NDI receiver on the same network. You can also connect it to a laptop over USB and select it as a camera in your conferencing app.
What network bandwidth does it need?
The network port is 10/100Mbps. The NDI main stream bitrate is adjustable from 64 Kbps to 16 Mbps (8 Mbps default), and the preview stream from 64 Kbps to 4 Mbps. That makes it practical on standard office and campus networks.
What resolutions are supported over USB?
Over USB 3.0, MJPEG, H.264, and H.265 run at resolutions up to 3840x2160@30fps, including 1080p and 720p at 60fps. NV12 supports up to 1920x1080@30fps, though NV12 at 720p and 1080p requires a USB 3.0 connection.
How is the web interface secured?
The default password is "admin," and the unit requires you to set a new password at first login before you can access the settings. You can reset the IP mode and passwords by pressing RESET five times, or restore factory defaults by holding RESET for about 10 seconds.
